Occoquan District Overview
History
The Board of County Supervisors was established by the Virginia Constitution of 1869. Supervisors were elected annually. Meetings were held “as necessary” with an annual meeting in December. Beginning in 1903, Supervisors were elected to four-year terms with regular meetings at fixed periods.
